David graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2018, and trained at one of the largest law firms in Singapore before joining TSMP. He was called to the Singapore Bar in 2019 and is part of the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department.

David has worked on a wide variety of complex commercial disputes, with a particular focus on intellectual property, international arbitration, and solicitor-client taxation.

As a former nationally-ranked debater, David enjoys the cut and thrust of written and oral advocacy. He believes strongly in client-centric solutions no matter the size of the dispute. He has assisted clients ranging from technology start-ups to international architecture firms in reaching amicable commercial settlements.

  • Acting for representatives of communities in Papua New Guinea affected by mining-related environmental damage in a claim against, among others, PNG Sustainable Development Program, Ok Tedi Mining Limited and the Independent State of Papua New Guinea.
  • Defending the Kheng Chiu Hou Tin Kong, a company limited by guarantee, against winding up proceedings brought by the President of the Hainan Hwee Kuan clan association.
  • Successfully arguing a novel point of law on whether State Court Deputy Registrars are bound by decisions of Supreme Court Assistant Registrars; [2021] SGDC 112.
