TSMP Law Corporation co-head of construction & engineering Derek Loh was quoted in a 22 February 2021 BT article on how the tapering off of government relief measures will affect the construction sector in 2021.
He said “I believe the calm in the exit numbers is largely attributable to the reliefs from the Singapore government and the government’s efforts to support the construction industry”.
He also commented that he expects raw material prices to continue rising. In the United States, the new administration has control of Congress and can “initiate a construction-based stimulus programme to renew America’s ageing infrastructure and to build new climate change-related infrastructure”.
