TSMP Law Corporation joint managing partner and head of corporate Stefanie Yuen Thio was asked to comment in a Bloomberg article published on 12 January 2021, on the Singapore Exchange tightening its regulation of auditors and property valuers who work with listcos in the wake of several accounting scandals in the country recently.

She said: “The new rules catch outliers — where the auditors with less expertise or standing are appointed and who may not be well versed in the standards expected of listed companies. But the big scandals have caught the Big Four off guard.”
