TSMP Law Corporation joint managing partner Stefanie Yuen Thio, commented in a 09 January 2021 Straits Times article on the TraceTogether controversy, where the government revealed that data gathered from the tokens can be used for criminal investigations despite earlier stating that such information would only be used for contact tracing.
She said that the Government was open about admitting that its original information was not completely accurate.
She also said “I hope that we can, as a nation, now go back to focusing on the pressing issue of fighting the pandemic”.
