On September 26, the Law Society of Singapore held a forum discussion on the Tan Seng Kee v AG and s377A of the Penal Code.
Shen Yi’s comments were quoted in Lianhe Zaobao where, in his capacity as Joint Managing Partner of TSMP Law, he proposed that society should have a safe space for people with different views to express their views candidly on the premise of mutual respect. The online article also appeared in the print edition (p.7) of the paper.
Adrian was quoted in his capacity as Law Society President in The Straits Times. Journalist Tham Yuen-C quoted Adrian’s comment that the case brought to light how Singaporeans want to effect change in society. Read the article here.
Adrian was quoted more lengthily by Matthew Mohan in Channel NewsAsia where he explained how there were two ways society could change laws – the messy legalistic process or the neat democratic process. The article is here.
Adrian was also mentioned in AsiaOne by Claudia Tan, which noted that he was a panellist on the forum. The article is here.
