Leading Singapore law firm TSMP Law Corporation is pleased to announce a recent expansion of its dispute resolution and transactional teams.

Veteran lawyer Adrian Tan has joined its dispute resolution practice as a partner. A well-known lawyer in the Singapore courts, and Vice-President of the Law Society of Singapore, Adrian will expand on TSMP’s civil litigation bench strength, while spearheading its technology and intellectual property cases. Adrian is also a market-leading lawyer in en bloc disputes. His Thomson View and Gilstead Court cases, where he successfully resisted en bloc applications by exposing unfair or bad faith practices, have become landmark decisions in the fast-developing area of collective sales litigation.

Adrian’s expertise encompasses 28 years of legal experience in these areas. He spent the bulk of his career at leading Singapore law firms, and also boasts in-house counsel stints at two technology firms. In 2004, he obtained a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Singapore Institute of Management, making him one of the rare few technology lawyers who have an academic foundation in IT.

Adrian’s entrance to the firm follows the earlier signing of Chee Chin Wi on 1 January 2018, who joined TSMP’s transactional practice as an associate director. Chin Wi’s illustrious history includes more than seven years’ practice at Lee & Lee in its corporate department, as well as three years in in-house roles at two MNCs. His portfolio of transactions includes the delisting of Cerebos Pacific Limited (valued at S$2.1 billion), the delisting of Allgreen Properties Limited (valued at S$2.5 billion), the partial offer for Wing Tai Holdings Limited (valued at S$1.1 billion) and the delisting of Want Want International Limited (valued at S$3.0 billion). He has also worked on several high-profile cross-border transactions during his in-house experience in the telecommunications and the real estate sectors.

The expansion of the firm is testament to TSMP’s growing practice in dispute resolution and M&A, where it continues to enjoy a leading position as a boutique firm.
