On Monday 18 November, TSMPers put a pause on their regular work, closing the office for the day to welcome over 50 youths into our premises, where we planned a TikTok challenge around the theme “Be A Buddy, Not A Bully”. Our staff, who were grouped with the youths into 10 teams, were taught a thing or two by these savvy youngsters on how to film and edit TikTok videos worth posting – and three groups won cash prizes to spend at Universal Studios that afternoon!
While the TikTok action was going on, Bliss Group – a social enterprise that offers employment and training opportunities for marginalised youth – set up a delectable brunch. We also brought in an ice cream cart by Chip Guan Heng for dessert – the cool treats were a perfect precursor for the humid outdoor afternoon at Universal Studios Singapore (USS)!
Dark skies and a brief downpour could not dampen our spirits, as we raced through ride after ride at USS with the youngsters (their energy knows no limits) and got to know them better while queuing up and chatting. The day was filled with meaningful connection – not just with the youths but even among TSMPers.
More than just a day of fun, the event was also a testament to TSMP’s commitment to creating social impact. A big “thank you” to our partner Impart for their enthusiastic participation, and TSMP’s Handprint committee led by partner June Ho for their tireless logistical efforts in making the day a success. We look forward to creating more moments of shared community experiences!
