TSMP Law Corporation joint managing partner Stefanie Yuen Thio commented in a Business Times story published on 9 October 2020 on local fintech Fincy, where the reporter sought her views on whether there’s a conflict of interest if an investor founds a startup and also manages it.

She said that there’s no inherent conflict in having an investor found a startup if they have the relevant expertise and time to manage both endeavours. However, it’s not something you typically see because investors and startup founders have different skill sets, she added.
