Ian Lim comments in ST: “Illegal job brokering on the rise here, says migrant worker group”
In a news story published by the Straits Times on 27 May 2019 that looked at the increase in illegal job brokering among migrant workers here, Ian Lim said that there appears to be limited recourse for foreign workers who pay extortionate broker fees or suspect that their brokers are unlicensed. He adds: “Apart from the authorities cracking down on unlicensed job brokering, it is essential that employers be responsible and take the necessary precautions to ensure that they work only with licensed employment agents.”
