Ian Lim was quoted in The Straits Times, in two separate articles on the same topic of medical certificates (MCs).

The articles discussed the recent Ministry of Health’s proposal to tighten rules on MCs, to prevent its improper or excessive issuing. Ian shared his opinion that there are some ailments which may be difficult for a doctor to fully and accurately diagnose on the spot just based on the patient’s description of the symptoms. He said doctors may need to give patients the benefit of the doubt and exercise judgement as to whether further tests for patients may be needed.
