Features Tania Chin
Tania Chin was quoted in Lianhe Zaobao by Yow Ke Jia in an article on the new guidelines issued by the Sentencing Advisory Panel (SAP) for offences including handing over personal banking or Singpass accounts to criminals to commit crimes (p. 1).
The article included Tania’s comments that in the past, the minimum sentencing was a few weeks, but the new guidelines recommend a starting point of at least six months in prison. It is believed that a harsher sentence would serve as a more effective deterrent.
