We are pleased to announce that TSMP has won the President’s Volunteerism and Philanthropy Award (PVPA) in the Small and Medium Enterprise category for 2018. We were cited for the community and pro bono work that we have done for our beneficiaries, namely the elderly; children and youth at risk; and transient workers. We close the firm for two days a year for Handprint, a series of charity events organised in-house, and our litigation lawyers dedicate 25-30 hours a year to provide pro bono legal support to those who cannot otherwise afford representation.
This is the first time in the history of the awards that a law firm has been recognised.
The annual PVPA was launched in 2012 to honour those who have set benchmarks of excellence in encouraging the spirit of giving in Singapore. These awards represent the highest honour for giving to the community be it in the arts, environment, social services, sports, education, healthcare or other worthy causes. The Awards aim to encourage and inspire others to bring about a higher level of volunteerism and philanthropy in Singapore. The Awards are conferred by the President of the Republic of Singapore and is organised by NVPC, with support from the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) and the National Council of Social Service (NCSS).
