Leon Lim was interviewed in The Edge by Felicia Tan. The article covered the spate of delistings and the outlook for IPOs in the Singapore market. Leon was quoted saying that he has seen a swell in demand from companies mainly in industries with traditionally high investor interest, such as real estate and clean energy. He added that these companies also tend not to be as exposed to global trade and tariffs, and that companies are bearish on the announced measures by the MAS review group and are waiting to see if they will eventually improve the market’s liquidity and valuations.
He reasoned that some of these companies are not in a hurry to enter public markets since their immediate fundraising needs have been met through private capital. In addition, he shared, certain companies reliant on foreign trade, especially with the US, have shelved their plans for the foreseeable future or at least until the global trade and tariff situation stabilises.
The article also appeared in the print edition of The Edge on 23 June 2025.
