Melvin Chan was mentioned in The Straits Times, in an article by Selina Lum on two lawyers being suspended three years each for misleading Singapore’s highest court and wasting the time of the five judges on the panel (p. A13). Paul Seah Zhen Wei from Tan Kok Quan Partnership and Chandra Mohan Rethnam from Rajah & Tann, were the lead counsel on opposite sides of a matter that was heard by the Court of Appeal on Jan 20, 2021. The article mentioned that on 5 April 2024, the Law Society, represented by Melvin Chan and Pradeep Pillai, sought a two-year suspension each for Seah and Chandra.
