In a BT article on the CCCS’s findings on the Grab-Uber deal, Thio Shen Yi, SC, said: “What CCCS seemed most concerned about was that the parties consummated the deal without getting an indication from CCCS on its views of the anti-competitive effects of the transaction. That seems risky, though it may have been a calculated risk.” He added: “CCCS probably doesn’t want to encourage a shoot-first-and-ask-questions-later approach.” More details here: https://www.businesstimes.com.sg/startups/grab-uber-deal-cccs-findings-blasted and in an ST article here: https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/transport/grab-uber-deal-breaches-competition-laws-watchdog
