TSMP Law Corporation joint managing partner Thio Shen Yi, SC was quoted in a Business Times article on 03 March 2021.
He commented “under Chapter 11, creditors cannot get possession or control of the properties. In theory, Chapter 11 is meant to provide a more orderly sale of assets.”
He also said “However, if the bulk of the assets are secured to a few major lenders, those major lenders may see no point in a Chapter 11 process as they can in its absence, by themselves sell those properties with less expense,” he added.”
