In an article published in the 3 – 9 December 2018 edition of The Edge Singapore on the Securities Investors Association (Singapore)’s expressed hope that it can form a “tripartism” with regulators and companies in engaging boards and management of companies, Thio Shen Yi said: “No two companies are alike. Some engage actively, others shut small shareholders down. Sometimes, moral suasion works. Other times, a more robust and combative approach is the only way to get results and not be bullied.”
