“I see in my associates my daughters – each one to be nurtured and grown to be the best lawyer he or she can be.”
Small in stature but prodigious in presence, nobody ever misses the fact that Jennifer is in the boardroom. She is notorious for negotiating fair but hard, with an astonishing ability to successfully close deals under intense pressure and unattainable deadlines.
Heading TSMP’s Banking & Finance and Corporate Real Estate desks, she is in a unique position to advise and act on both the funding and acquisition aspects of a property transaction, a convenience that many clients appreciate. While dealing in commercial and industrial buildings is her bread and butter, Jennifer also has a thriving practice in general corporate work encompassing investments, convertible loan transactions, joint ventures, share and business sale transactions. Additionally, she advises listed companies on their regulatory and compliance matters. Her clients include banks, financial institutions, multinational corporates and high-net-worth individuals, who value her for going to bed thinking about their problems, and waking up with solutions.
While her kids have already grown up, Jennifer’s maternal instincts still burn bright. She helped set up iC2 PrepHouse – a Singapore charity where she is now director, company secretary and legal advisor – that teaches life skills to low-sight individuals, particularly children. She is also company secretary at Boys’ Town. Started by the Brothers of St Gabriel, the charity provides residential care, street outreach, fostering, and community and school-based programmes for families, youth and children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
